Pounamu Greenstone Kōpaki (breastplate)
This handcrafted Pounamu (Greenstone) Kōpaki (breastplate) is shaped with care and intention, honouring the traditions of Te Ao Māori (The Māori World). A finely carved Koru (spiral) is incut into the centre of the Kōpaki, symbolising Whakatipu (growth), Whānau (connection), and the continuous unfolding of life’s journey. The Koru brings a sense of renewal and grounding to the wearer, reminding them of beginnings, balance, and the steady return to one’s centre.
Each piece is carved from genuine Pounamu (New Zealand greenstone) sourced from Te Waipounamu (The South Island) of Aotearoa (New Zealand).
Your Taonga (Treasure) is presented in a white leather‑bound box with a white inner pad, offering a clean, elegant display ideal for gifting or safekeeping.
It is suspended from a black plaited wax cord, fully adjustable to size, ensuring comfort and versatility for the wearer.
This Pounamu has been blessed by Dot Arts, acknowledging its Mauri (Life Force) and preparing it to carry Aroha (Love), Kaha (Strength), and Tiaki (Protection) for its new wearer.
Meaning of a Karakia (blessing)
A Karakia (prayer/incantation) is spoken to honour the Wairua (spirit/essence) of the stone, acknowledge its journey from the Whenua (land), and set intentions for the wellbeing of the person who will wear it. Through Karakia, the Taonga becomes more than an adornment — it becomes a companion of grounding, guidance, and connection.
